BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. - Sheikh
Professor Abdul Hadi Palazzi, who has called himself a “Muslim
Zionist”, will speak at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2004, at
Adat Shalom Synagogue, 29901 Middlebelt Road, Farmington
Hills. Topics included in the program, Islam,
Democracy & Zionism: A Journey Toward Understanding include,
“The Jewish-Moslem Dialogue and the Question of Jerusalem”, “Islam
and Democracy”, “Suicide Bombers: Martyrs or Apostates?” and
others.
Sheikh Palazzi, who
lives in Italy, is a scholar and an
ordained Islamic religious leader. He is Resident
Professor of Middle East Studies at the Research Institute for
Anthropological Sciences in Rome, and a lecturer on the
History of Religion as well as a commentator on the Middle East for Italy’s public television
organization called the Italian Muslim Assembly together with
eight other sheikhs. He has published numerous
papers and articles, and addressed a number of international
conferences on a variety of issues, including peace in the Middle
East and
the relations of Moslems and the State of Israel.

relationship between Islam and the Jewish People and Israel. Not
only is he a “Muslim Zionist”, but he also denounces Muslim
political extremists, the PLO, Arafat, the Al Aqsa Brigade and their
like as perverting authentic, traditional Islam.
